Tors here. On Monday I took a drive south of the notch. It felt kind of weird leaving the little bubble of the north country, things were a lot greener down south and it had been a while since I went anywhere... Sometimes I like to pretend that Franconia Notch is like The Wall in GoT, we are on the northern side of it, just south and trees are greener, theres more cars, shopping malls...

I can't resist a pay phone to slap a sticker on. Good thing I had a "The North Country Needs You" sticker on hand at the rest stop on 93S

I was headed to a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts meeting at the Manchester Makerspace. The makerspace is located right behind the SNHU arena, you can't miss it, just look for the amazing outdoor painting by James Chase!

We got a quick tour from Dan Perrinez, they have some great equipment. Dan made a point of the fact that the Manchester Maker space is 100% volunteer run. I wanted to connect with him on that point because I think that is what also makes The Loading Dock a unique place. The spirit of volunteering is really a selfish act. The positive feedback far out weighs the meager time and ability you put into volunteering. Its good for the soul.

Check out the photos from the tour of the makerspace! I was really impressed with the room of computers to run CAD software and the vinyl cutter... I love vinyl cutters. They also had a garage bay for automotive work which apparently is not a common thing in most makerspaces. I would think the first thing folks would want to do is to start modding out cars.

I had a bit of time to kill before heading back north of the wall so I dropped in on Bill Stelling at Kelley Stelling Contemporary Gallery in Manchester. This exhibit by Sarah Meyers Brent is really something else. The exploded canvases will really grab your attention but don't miss really spending time looking at her paintings. Tonight there is a dance performance happening in the gallery by Amanda Whitworth 6:00 8:00pm.
